THE DRUNK NORWEGIAN BRIDGE

  • You’ve heard about the “don’t drink and drive”, but what are you supposed to do if the road, or even worse; the bridge, is drunk? Don’t believe it? Here is the proof

The Storseisundet Bridge, or its real name Storseisundbrua, is a cantilever bridge which means that it’s built using structures that project horizontally into space, supported on only one end. That method resulted this time in a bridge that literally looks drunk, you get dizzy just by looking at it. The 280 yards long Storseisundbrua is located south of Kristiansund in Norway and is the the longest of the eight bridges that make up the “Atlantic Road”.
The reason for its form is unknown; maybe the construction workers weren't sober at work, or maybe it was just meant to be like that. I can’t either figure out what it is, but I’m sure that any driver should drive slowly and be careful in those curves, especially buses and trucks. This bridge is still not the only object that has been weirdly constructed; just take a look at this confusing freestanding house in Austria, now we’re talking about being drunk!
