However, onlookers were taken aback to see this pod having so much fun in California at the weekend.
Spectators were stunned when the dolphins gatecrashed a surfing contest and rode the waves with competitors.At least a dozen dolphins came within a few feet of surfers at the annual Rincon Classic competition in Santa Barbara.
