Being in a wheelchair is no laughing matter and I know for a fact that this particular category of people don’t appreciate being considered handicapped or being pitted. So, all that in mind, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be allowed to have some fun. How, do you ask? Well, the answer is Ziesel.
Der Ziesel is a badass electric tank wheelchair hybrid that allows you to enjoy all the excitement that the cold season brings with it and the perfect way to shred the slopes while remaining in the seated position. Ziesel features two permanent magnet synchronous motors that output 21 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque and put the tracks in motion; those engines are responsible for this 460 pound machine dashing through the snow at speeds of up 22 miles per hour.
There’s an integrated battery pack that provides the Ziesel power and allows you to have fun from anywhere from 4 to 5 hours at a time, all of which is controlled through the joystick located on the armrest of the vehicle. Fun it may be and awesome as well, but this off-road wheel chair will set you back $30,000 – plus the $1,500 charger needed to refuel the battery. So, it’s up to you: how much is that smile worth?
