  • Check this out, the new 2015 Ferrari California T. Isn’t it just gorgeous? The Ferrari California T is going to have its global premiere the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The super-car is powered by a 3,855 cc turbocharged (twin-scroll turbines) V8 engine with direct injection that develops 412 kW (560 hp) at 7,500 rpm and 755 Nm (77 kgm) of torque at 4,750 rpm. Ferrari’s 2015 California T is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 316 km/h. According to the Italian supercar maker, the California T (2015) has a fuel economy of 10.5 l/100 km and a 250 g/km CO2 emissions level. As if we’d care, right?

Ferrari also brags about the fact that this newly developed turbocharged engine is the first one of its kind to have virtually zero turbo lag. That remains to be seen and experienced. Although this Ferrari model features 70 hp and 49% more torque than its predecessor, it promises 15% lower fuel consumption, as well as a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions.
For those of you with a bit more technical inclination, the 2015 Ferrari California T comes with a flat-plane crankshaft, three-piece cast exhaust manifold and turbo housing, a new steering box for better response, a new suspension setup, new springs, latest-generation Magnaride dampers (which respond 50 per cent faster), and body motion accelerometers. ‘Nuff said!
This Ferrari has been equipped with an F1-Trac traction control system, CCM3 carbon-ceramic brakes, an ESP 8.0 premium, and a high performance ABS. Supposedly, the 2015 California T is able to stop from 100 km/h to zero in 34 meters. The retractable hard top is surely a positive feature and it can be opened or closed in 14 seconds.
At the design level, the new Ferrari California T comes with new headlights, a modified front bumper, and a new hood with two vents that enable better cooling of the engine bay and a more efficient turbo air feed. None of the body panels have managed to avoid re-styling, while at the back the Ferrari shows slightly modified fenders, a new bumper with an integrated diffuser and new exhaust pipes.
Inside the cabin, the California T features a Frau semi-aniline leather trim, a steering wheel with integrated controls and what Ferrari calls the Turbo Performance Engineer (TPE): a touch-screen that allows you to scroll through and fiddle around – at your own risk – various engine parameters at any given time. The California T is also equipped with a new infotainment system that comes with high-resolution 6.5” touchscreen. Stay tuned for the Ferrari California T’s price and availability!
