Flying can be a stressful experience, particularly if you’re not able to travel light. Baggage allowances differ from airline to airline and if you’ve got children in tow, the whole experience can be less than enjoyable. Often, it’s a nightmare. Therefore, streamlining the transit process seems like a great idea.
So the Clip-Air project, devised by École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), could offer a tantalising glimpse of the future with its concept for rail-based capsules that whisk you to the airport. Then, without even having to get out of your seat, your capsule will be attached to a single flying wing. In moments, you could be ready for take-off.
